One of my dogs has an eye infection, so we've been instructed to put a Buster collar (lampshade thingie round his neck) on him for the next fortnight. Is there anything just as effective but less obtrusive and more attractive on the market?

Hi, assuming that the Buster collar is to stop him from scratching his eye I can't really think of an alternative. They are so awkward for the animal...I know....my kitten was spayed last week and lasted for all of ten minutes in one! Try leaving the collar off as much as possible, obviously this can only be done if you are their to supervise him...and stop any attempt at scratching.

Not really no. Some people use socks on the paws to stop them scratching, but in my experience doesn't normally work.

Don't worry about it not looking attractive - I'm sure it is better than your dog loosing its eye due to irrepairable damage...
