speak with the nurses on the ward and inform them of the situation to pass it on to the hospital social workers
Hi tony, I can understand mum saying that it is obviously because she can't stand the pain of seeing him kill himself and she does not want it again, you need to talk to social services and they should be able to liaise with local council about warden controlled housing,if you get no sense from them, get onto citizens advice or the samaritans both of whom will help you, wish you good luck, hope he comes out and beats his addiction, Ray
If you get no joy via social workers , see if there is a Cyrenians group in your area. They help disadvantaged people with support and housing. It is always the carers that carry the heaviest burden.xx

Tony - don't know if you'll get this as I wasn't on AB yesterday so didn't see your post try Streetscene - your brother would have to be referred but they provide secondary care for recovering addicts. Basically means once gone through detox they go to one of their 'safe' house where they follow a very strict regime of healthy eating, taking responsibility for their own personal hygiene, cleaning room keeping house clean. It is run by recovred addicts and it's all about keeping people on track and easing them back into a normal life. They have a very high success rate.
FAb people who will be able to advise you.
Good Luck
