On '8 out of 10 cats' the other night, someone said that film of the moon landings showed wind - therefore the moon landings were faked! This led to an argument and prompted my original set of questions.
Nice links from TeeGee but in practical terms the moon has no atmosphere and certainly no air. There is no wind caused by moving gases (as on Earth) as the Solar "wind" is something completely different - charged particles. I think people get confused when they the American flag on the moon "rippling" as if caused by a wind. Actually the flag was supported by a wire otherwise it would just be limp.
Strictly speaking space is not a perfect vacuum as there is some matter there but in reality it is a pretty good vacuum.
There is no wind on the Moon, the fluttering flags argument is used by the conspiracy loonies to back up their ever more ridiculous claim that the landings where faked. The fluttering flag and all the other so called anomolies explained here: http://www.clavius.org/envflutter.html
