I heard this song at the end of the Simpsons episode where Mr Burns meets his son. It is quite rocky - sounds a bit like Kiss - and the chorus lyrics go somthing like "any way you want it, that's the way you need it" and then "long night...all night" or something..any ideas?

its called any way you want it and is by the group journey, who were the offspring (sort of) of the prog rock outfit yes
