Cheap Car Insurance for the naughty?

Asking on behalf of friend. Been disqualified for Dangerous Driving DD40 for 1 year. He is getting his licence back now. Prior to the DD, he had 5 years no claims, no oints on licence. Would anyone know any specialised / cheaper places for car insurance quotes? He is 37 years old. Thanks in advance.

He will still be able to claim his no claims discount as that usually stays valid for two years but will his premium will be loaded because of the DD40 conviction. When he gets his licence back he will have the DD40 endorsement but no penalty points. If it was me I would be asking my original insurer for a quote.
