Temperature gage

The Temperature gage on my Ford Mondeo (1997), Stays at neutral and doesn`t move as the engine warms. My heater works only on speed 4 but i know how to sort that out. Can somebody please advise me how to get my temperature gage to start working again please..?

9 times out of ten it is usually the temprature sender unit that is faulty, this will be fitted somewhere near the thermostat and is quite cheap to replace, happens on a lot of cars.

The sensor you want is the lower one, with the smaller thread-1/8th bspf- the top one is the sender for the management system, and is 3/8th bspf.
