Back in the late 60's or early 70's , I am sure there was a chart hit of some kind , that was almost entirely a Hari Krishna chant.

Can anybody tell me who it was by and , rather more what it was called, if that is not a stupid question.

Even if someone else remembers its existence would be a boon.

Cheers

Not Bow Down Mister by Boy George?

Wrong decade I know, but the only one I can think of.
I think it was by The Radha Krishna Temple (1971) and George Harrison might have been involved with it in some way (could be wrong on that though).
Govinda by Radha Krishna Temple released 28/3/70
Called 'Hare Krishna Mantra', sorry, forgot to mention that.
Ringo starr - hmm dont know what it was claled or anything
My sweet Lord by George Harrison also contains some bits of Krishna chanting
Govinda was the follow up to the Hare Krishna Mantra. The first one made it into the top twenty, mainly due to Harrison's involvement. Govinda hovered around the top thirty then disappeared.
The song you are looking for is in the soundtrack of the musical Hair
Go into Leicester town centre every saturday and there's some bloke and his band of 3 people singing the Hari Krishna song over and over again.....
the song is called 'my sweet lord' and it is sung by george harrison.
