Rusty Leaves

I have a bush in the garden about 5ft tall it has at the moment small bunches of purple berries, but the leaves have got a rusty efect dry to touch, can you please help.

Hi j-m, I think your right, it does sound like rust, which is actually a form of fungus and at another guess its on Hypericum, never the less, I think you have two options-
1, Spray with a fungicide such as 'Systhane fungus fighter'
which may work but difficult on a 5ft bush.

2, Cut the bush right down low and remove any remaining leaves and carefully dispose of all the branches.
If the rust returns on the new growth spray it then.
