My 25 year old son is in full-time employment, still living at home, and claims the lower rate of the DLA. Do you know of anything where he would get a reduction on the cost or anything free on proof of this.

Check with your local council - my daughter gets middle rate DLA, and this entitles her to a local authority "passport". She gets free or reduced entry to cinemas, leisure centres, theatres, museums etc. Some of the places also allow me to go free when I am accompanying her. She is also entitled to reductions on things like music lessons, and bizarrely, reductions on services provided by the council like removal of wasps nests. If she were a car owner, she would be entitled to an extra hour's parking in all civic car parks. Your local council may run a similar scheme.
