I'm not waging war, untitled.

untitled; //anyone who openly sympathises with palestine is guilty of hatred then.//

Could you please point out where Palestine is on a map ?

Untitled: Thanks, your link demonstrates that there is no such a country as Palestine - just 'regions' or 'territories'.

The only country there being Israel.

Question Author

yes khandro that's what happens when one people invades and occupies another

Question Author

the state of palestine is also recognised by 140 countries by the way

Untitled; ^^^^ wrong ! 'A 'state' is a political division of a body of people that occupies a territory defined by frontiers. '

This in no stretch of the imagination applies to Hamas or to the Arab Muslims & others  living in the Gaza strip or the West Bank.

The point being made I think is that when things are shut down that they agree with people moan about cancel culture.

However when other things are shut down that they don't agree with, they become strangely unbothered about, or supportive of the cancellation.

This is demonstrably true.

KHANDRO, you might not believe Palestine is a state but the UN thinks otherwise.

'Right now, Palestine is a “Permanent Observer State” at the UN, enjoying the status that allows it to participate in all of the Organization’s proceedings, except for voting on draft resolutions and decisions in its main organs and bodies, from the Security Council to the General Assembly and its six main committees.'

khandro

what exactly is the conclusion you are trying to reach? that the palestinians don't have a country so israel can do whatever it wants to them? the palestinian territories were invaded and occupied against their will and are currently being brutalised and colonised by israeli settlers and armed forces. what exactly does your irrelevant opinion about palestinian statehood change about this situation? you appear to believe that might makes right.

the palestinians were not responsible for the holocaust and quite reasonably ask why a jewish state must be built at their expense and on the back of their oppression. the reason they don't have a country is the same one that the kurds don't... because they are occupied and oppressed and powerful countries side with their oppressor.

Was Palestine ever its own country?

While the State of Israel was established on 15 May 1948 and admitted to the United Nations, a Palestinian State was not established. The remaining territories of pre-1948 Palestine, the West Bank - including East Jerusalem- and Gaza Strip, were administered from 1948 till 1967 by Jordan and Egypt, respectively.

When the British left the country, the Jewish people were rejoiced. They were glad to receive any land that would be their home, small as it was. The Arabs in the area did not like this at all. From their point of view, all the land is rightfully theirs. They did not wish to share country with the Jews. that's how the 1948 Arab–Israeli War started (well it kind of started before, but the real fighting was later). The Arabs, with the help of other Arab country's in the area, invaded the new state. Their problem was that they were not organized, so instead of conquering land from the Jews, the Jews conquered land. All of this happened but a Palestinian country was never founded. There never was a Palestinian country it was only ever a region, like the Sahara is a region.

The UN & others may wish to believe it is a country, they may also wish to believe in Father Christmas, it doesn't make it happen though.

Question Author

what is your point khandro?

My point is; thousands of uninformed people are running around each weekend bearing placards stating 'Free Palestine' without realising there is no such place to 'free'.

If they want a separate new country formed exclusively for Arab Sunni Muslims they should be clear about the facts & ask for that - aka, a two party state. But they should also be careful what they wish for.

As someone recently said, it would be like forcing Fred West & Harold Shipman to live together in a caravan 😄
