Those of us of a certain age may remember that slogan.  Times have changed and an awareness of the damage fossil fuels can do to the environment makes me wonder were the anti nuclear protestors wrong.

Of course they are wrong, they base their arguments on hysteria. You only have to mention the word "nuclear" and morons all over the world with no science knowledge wet their nickers. Here's a clue the entire universe is made of atoms and they have nuclei,.....ie they are nuclear! derr!

To be fair(ish) to protestors, there has been a lot of development in handling and storage over the last 70 years or so.

Finland is currently building the World's first major scale underground storage facility for 'spent' fuel. (Developed from Swedish research.) The point being that this fuel is not completely spent. It still has a commercial value for other applications.

Might be a good time to buy shares in 'Finland Inc.'  😉

It was as a result of russian aggression that everyone thought whoopsie we will have to be self sufficient in ..... ( fill in whatever you think)

esp after that gas pipe line was blown up.

COMPLETELY different from the old idea that war is dead and we have to trade with  everyone else - who wont invade another country as they know it is just NOT worth it

I prefer the old idea BUT Angela Merkel final words were - "I have been wrong for  20y"

First job nuclear chemistry. ( retro will  really get on my back for this - eek ! ) Higgs RIP before he stuck his nobel cert on his wall, gave pride of place to a letter from Merkel inviting him to  present at one of the chemistry conferences she was organising

just saying, retro, dont go off your trolley
