I have always had a rotary washing line, fits loads and dries just fine. Then a year or so ago it started to fall apart basically. My MIL said they look ugly anyway - why don't u just get an airer so that you can just put it out when u want to dry washing, then fold it up when u don't. So I did. Have used it since, but really don't like it - falls over far too easily, nightmare to dry sheets etc on..... so I said to OH this morn I was thinking about getting another rotary line & what did he think. He burst out laughing and said he cudnt give a monkeys lol.

So what do you all use??

(btw yes my washing machine does have a tumble dryer but I hate using it)

Radiator and hangers. I live in a maisonette and even though there are rotary lines downstairs, there is no way I'd carry wet...or dry laundry up and down several flights of stairs.

I'd considered an airer...but seeing how long it takes for things to dry when I visit my daughter...its a no. Plus, I'd not dedicate a single room to drying laundry.

Not overly keen on rotories. Prefer a proper washing line. My women prefers the exact opposite ! The other day she pegged fitted sheets on the rotary, pegged each end; it acted like a sail, the wind came and blew it off onto the ground. Wouldn't have happened doubled over the top of a proper line at my place.

How many have you got?

I use a tumble dryer throughout the whole of autumn/winter. Then on dry spring/summer days, I hang washing out on my green washing line, with good old fashioned wooden pegs and a green metal prop! 👱

Shhh.... !

Barsel - yes, an airier is what was/ is classed as a clothes horse.  Varying shapes and sizes, some tall, some low and wide.

Would you say MIL is too posh to wash?!

Many many donkeys ago, I washed and hung my black lacy underwear on the line and would you believe it, someone stole it? I bet no one would steal the underwear I wear these days.

Thanks Smow, I've always called them a drier.😃

I use a clothes line. In fact i have got three strung across my back yard, i can put a lot of washing out and leave the clothes pegs on the lines. It is all convenient.
