Yes, cash will be around for a long time. It ia too useful to threaten it.

Cash withdrawals was at an all time high just before Christmas because people like to give it as gifts. Gift cards have fallen out of favour because people are aware that if large established companies like Debenhams can go bump, any company can - making the gift card worthless
