I would have said "orbit" as well and I'm not pretending to be thick.   I guess I just am in your world ttt! 😘

so what is the actual answer?  NASA tells me it's "rotation period"

was that the answer?

and i'm (seriously!) not pretending

Question Author

You seriously don't know what a day is?

national geographic also tells me it's

"The time it takes for a planet or other celestial object to complete one spin around its axis is called its rotation period"

so what was the actual answer?  And who do i believe more - the chase or national geographic?

bednobs. The question was "What word refers to the time it takes a celestial body to turn once on its axis?"

The answer TTT expects is "Day".

If you imagine the sun sitting in space a long way away from us, then imagine that the earth rotates; from the earth it appears that the sun is moving in a big circle round the earth, thus giving us a period of light followed by a period of darkness - that's what a day is.

TTT is very clever, knowing all this stuff. Because he learned about it at the age of five, he presumes that everybody else did, and so if you claim not to know the answer you must either be 'thick' or be pretending to be 'thick'. He's not only clever, but also kind and empathetic and understands human nature.

10:51 //"The time it takes for a planet or other celestial object to complete one spin around its axis is called its rotation period"// - yes it is usually called a day.

Question Author

...but as usual with these the actual answer is largely irrelevant. The amusement factor comes from the idea that it might be an "orbit".

"i  think my superpower my be in evidence again"

i'd get a refund if i were you.  it seems a bit of a crapola superpower to have "making other people feel thick", when you could have beome invisible, or xray vision or superstrength

Question Author

13:21 Not "feel" thick, pretend to be thick there is a huge difference. I didn't choose it myself, people like you gave it to me.
