i first noticed the fault in the summer when the cold air fans only blew out hot air, not its even more apparent when its cold in the morning, as the fans only blow out cold air, this is going to be a big problem when winter sets in as the air wont defrost my screen, has anyone else had this hapen to their Ford Ka, could it be the heater matrix, and if so is that expensive to fix? thanks for any advice, any help welcome!

Hi louise. The fan blowing hot air in the summer is normal even if you have the heater set to cold. This is because the heat absorbed by the dashboard and also the external air temp being high. (This is unless you have air con). Best advice, and you may have tried this so sorry but just trying to help, is to wait until the car's engine is warmed up and turn the heater to hot and put the fan on. If you still don't get any hot air then it needs to be checked out. Make sure you are not low on engine coolant as this is what passes through the heater matrix. I have driven a KA, damn uncomfortable seats, but great fun to drive.
Hi louise
More likely to be the heater valve on the bulkhead under the bonnet .It is really easy to change and is about thirty pounds.
