Has Brucie ever been made a Sir, OBE, MBE or anything similar?
If not, is there any reason why not?

He's a CBE which is 2 up from the bottom and one down from a full "Sir".

I believe some of these honours have been demeaned. Who was that guy who did the insurance advert who refused his OBE because they were also issued to cleaners. And that poet who refused his MBE it because it had overtones of the British Empire in its award. So does your question mean anything anymore?
It was Michael Winner who refused an OBE and used the "cleaners" remark.

Benjamin Zephaniah was the poet who also refused an OBE...

kwicky - not sure what you mean about whether my question means anything anymore?

I imagine that a knighthood would mean a lot to someone like Bruce Forsyth.
Wowo, you mean its higher, higher, higher than the bottom and lower, lower, lower than the Sir?

Again I say, good game!
he got the c.b.e. but was ****** off when he was,nt knighted. arrogant pillock. another one passed his sell by date.
my Dad had a career spanning 55 years, I would have been upset if anyone had said the same about his life's work fuggy.
Sorry, but what has he done to deserve a knighthood ?. Made a fortune, played golf, annoyed prople errm, that's it.
lankeela - yes very good :)

Top_Gooner - True enough. There are plenty with Kinghthoods who I don't think deserve them and plenty who should get them and don't.

I do however think the honours system is a good idea.
Well aren't most of them attained by financial means nowadays? So I guess they are effectively worthless in the sense of achievement, but valuable if you have political and commercial motivation.
