My Son who is nearly 40 has started getting patches of white/paler skin on his thighs, he's going to show the doctor, but in the meantime does anyone have any ideas, it doesn't itch, and is not scaly just white/paler patches on his skin.

Could be vitiligo although it is uncommon to get it on the legs.  The only real problem it causes is that the paler areas are more liable to burn badly in the sun.

Since the skin is not itchy, some possibilities may be:

- Pigmentation issue (Not directly harmful but in some cases indirectly)

- Fungal infection (Self-diagnosis is not recommended)

- Nutritional deficiency (Vitamin or mineral deficiency)
