PayPal is a safe way to pay but who is asking you to pay that way?  Can you tell us what it is for and who to before we tell you how to open a PayPal account.  I don't want you to get scammed

Is it an email purporting to be from Paypal? Do you have  apaypal account? Could well be  a scam

no not a scam and nobody purporting it either   if you don't mind Barry could you tell me how

Any decent person or business would give you other options to pay.
I think Paypal is safe to use. I use it often, but as Barry said, be careful if someone is forcing you to use it.

oh thanks Clo but how can I get Paypal please.

Are they asking you to pay by PayPal, or is it an option of payment methods.

I often use PayPal...on eBay and other sites.

Paypal is very safe and an excellent way of paying for things...their guarantee is excellent....if you don't get the service you paid for its quite simple to make a claim....and its settled very quickly usually in your favour. (We had London bus tour tickets and didn't get what we paid for due to many roads being closed which they hadn't told us about....we got a full refund)I think you just open an account. It will then need to be verified via your bank account by them . All very straightforward.

Thanks Barry

I am unable to use my paypal account as I was scammed and they still insist I owe them money.  However I sometimes get paypal come up as an option to pay for things ordered online which I can do without actually having to go into my account. I think it is different to actually having your own paypal account, ie it is the seller who has the account and you pay direct into it via paypal if that makes sense.

I use paypal a lot over many years and feel the same as Roslyn.  I feel much safer using PayPal than giving out  Bank card information.

I now pretty much limit my online purchases to companies that take PayPal. I feel much safer.
