Looks dodgy that link. It's called Debrox.

I paid £50 at the Deaf Association and the nurse was cross with my GP for not referring me as it would have been free of charge had he done so.

it didn't hurt at all, not even slightly unpleasant.

Not free on NHS in Scotland you have to go private. Our local pharmacy does it £25 per ear. Drs don't do it anymore here.

My surgery has just started doing wax removal - it was stopped during Covid.  They nurse uses the irrigation method.

My Dr use to do. I had to soften the wax and then he would do it, my hearing was much better after..

Thank you all for your answers. I feel a bit happier about having it done now.

eh?

I use the DIY method with an Otex kit. Remove any peripheral wax with a cotton bud without going too far in then flush with warm water from the rubber bulb. About every 3 months seems to work.

I'm told that in India they have street guys who do ear wax removal for a few rupees but I've never been.

I'm still trying to get a doctors appointment for my ears.  Nothing for two weeks got to ring today tosee if anything in the week after that.  Useless service now, was excellent prior to the Covid nonsence.

They even tried to get my daughter (profoundly deaf in both ears) to pay.  Luckily my wife works for NHS and knows them in audiology have been there with said daughter for 37 years and they do it for her.

Please go to a professional audiologist - you know that sell the hearing aids - they know what they are doing.  Also they showed the wax that was taken out in a little plastic bag.

I'm going to Boots, JJ. That where I got my hearing aids.

Tilly, are you having treatment from a trained audiologist ?

Had it done about a month ago £60 and much better than irrigation.

They are properly trained at Boots, Anne.
