Having had a look at my Fixed rate ISA's I've noticed that it states "contributions made" and "contributions pending" does that mean that I can top up my ISA or once I've made my initial payment that's it? Thanks!

Some you can, others you can't.  You need to read the bumf that you would have had when you opened the ISA, or call the provider

Remember you are also limited in how much you can put in within each tax year. If you exceed this amount you immediately lose tax relief on the entire sum, not just the excess.
