Probably A Londoner will give you better advice, but when we've gone down for football,we usually park around the Watford area and train into LOndon. Thinks that's as far North as the tube goes
I have heard that the M25 is London's biggest car park !
Just park at Stanmore (is it Stanmore?) - and get a tube straight in - car parking is cheap there......
Park at Redbridge station, off of the M25/M11 north east London and then take the tube in.
Try High Barnet for the Northern Line, plenty of public car parks off the High Street.
Redbridge is a long way from the A1.
Try parking on the North Circular ( for free) on Hanger Lane on the service road or nearby just outside the Travelodge. It's then about 10mins walk to Stonebridge Park tube to the North or Hanger Lane tube to the South. If not the hotel offers parking for 5 a day.
I'm with angeldraws on this one...Stanmore, excellent car park...3 for the day or 1 on a Saturday, straight onto the Jubilee Line, goes straight into central London for approx 6.50 for a travelcard for an adult. :o)
Its junction 4 M1 btw
the best parking in London and I am a Londoner at the weekend is Swan Lane which is near Monument Tube so if you drive to Tower of London and carry on towards the city so Tower behind you on the left you will see Swan Lane just after London Bridge which crosses the street above you as well as the Thames - it is about 5 for the day and the tube there is on Central and Circle and district lines - if you are going mid week to London then the best place to park is go to the outskirts where there isnt residential parking the only one I know is Upton park tube and Plaistow tube - aim for West Ham football ground and any roads off Barking Road and that tube line is District and Hammersmith and City. You could go A1 onto the North Circular Road and then take slip to East Ham that is the Barking Road - that is an easy drive from A1 follow towards Essex so going East when you get off A1 - if West Ham playing its a nightmare to park so you would have to be early
