Won't be forgotten by Ukrainians. I wonder how the PM got to Kyivso quickly given late last night he was briefing Cabinet and the shadow defence secretary on Yemen. He could easily have dipped out in the circumstances.

So credit where it's due to Mr Sunak. Impressive.

He couldnt dip out of it, he was already on his way, the briefing was done by phone.

Well, he could of course ;-)

But I only asked that for the sake of trying to work a question in ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Long range missiles and a record number of attack drones. And with UK shell production lately upped by 800% .

Well he could, but what would have been the point of turning round and coming back? to give a ya or na to go ahead and attack, it can be done in person or by phone, makes no difference either way.

What I meant was that knowing what was in the offing he could have postponed his trip, but I take your point that he might have already been on his way when he was in his meetings. I thought I'd read that he'd briefed John Healey and Lindsay Hoyle in person, Keir Starmer being too far away, but maybe not

The long awaited statement last night that was expected from Sunak didn't come because his trip to Ukraine was already in progress. The reason that nothing was said about Sunak last night was to keep his visit undercover for obvious reasons. But I dare say Russian will responed sooner or later with a few missiles just to say hello.

Yes, for once a good move.

FYI the briefing was not done by phone; it was done by officials in the Cabinet Office directly to Lindsay Hoyle and John Healey (shadow defence sec) with Keir Starmer on zoom.

Shall we settle for a conference call then that included Sunak? Because its pretty obvious we dont all see and hear the same news.

Perhaps they'll name a street after him like the did with Boris.

It's odd that the BBC called it a "rare visit to Kyiv": he's been PM for about 15 months and has visited twice. Not bad going.

"Perhaps they'll name a street after him like the did with Boris."

There was a famous old pub in Kyiv called the Sunduk, which sadly burned down a few years back and was rebuilt. They could rename it the Sunak :-)

The funny thing is Russia is now suffering a series of crippling power outages across the country, leaving cities in darkness and without heating: a year after it tried to destroy Ukraine's power infrastructure - and all this without - so far as one can tell - any input from Ukraine ๐Ÿ˜‚

Full marks

"Mr Medvedev, now deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council, said: "I hope that our eternal enemies - the arrogant British - understand that deploying an official military contingent to Ukraine would be a declaration of war against our country."

The speaker of the Rada, to Sunak's right, you feel is a man you would not want to annoy during a debate ...

Is Ukraine .....Sunaks... Falklands ???

......His last desperate chance.....

Sunak is on the world stage offering support to an ally trying to stand up to the bully Putin. Meanwhile Starmer is refining his plans for supervised toothbrushing for  3 year olds
