Omg I saw this earlier!

Hopefully this wont affect global climate change.....

Of course it will affect climate change. Volcanoes are one major reason for climate change. Ask the COP gubbins how to stop a volcano!

A boom time for makers of lava lamps though.

I wonder if we will get Greta Thunberg over in Iceland demonstrating and holding protest marches against this volcano?

Didn't the last Icelndic eruption stop planes flying for quite a while?

I hope people are not in danger.

Not good, though: but as the article says, the effect of huge eruptiond can actually brefly have the opposite effect (not in a good way)

Jourdain...late last night I was reading real time comments by someone waiting for their flight back to the UK to take off. At that time it was imminent...being delayed by Iceland residents who were getting off as they were worried they would not be able to return before Christmas. Meanwhile, photos were being taken of the eruptions.

I've just seen an update, and that flight ^^^ took off at 1:30 am.

I believe this is a different type of eruption than the famous one which stopped flights

Ich - yes. A volcanologist on TV this morning said because it's a long crack it won't throw ash into the atmosphere like the last one did.

Yes and something about a glacier underneath. I didn't catch it all but I'd imagine the earlier one was like a particularly powerful water and ash pistol.

That is a hell of a crack ...
