Chris I have tried everything to get into my Outlook - and just cant get in.  They want me to have a code which I cant get and also they have a very old old number of my landline - there is nowhere I can put a new mobile number to get a message cos I do not have any other email addresses- never had and never did so know nothing about them  On the site - I am able to put my current email address but they want a brand new one for the next line.  I certainly don't want any new address as I can barely work with my current one.  That's enough for me.

Gets onto a thing called AI and after exhausting some information they have told to RING Microsoft etc which I certainly cannot do.

Would you know Chris how I can get in - I do need my email to work.  Thanks Chris and to anybody else who can help.

Microsoft have, annoyingly, given the same name to two entirely different things.  When some people refer to 'Outlook', they mean a computer program that can be used to access any email address. However other people are referring to the Outlook.com website, which is used (via a web browser) to access email accounts ending in @outlook.com or @hotmail.com.  I'll assume that you're using the latter.  (If not, my answer isn't going to make a lot of sense!).

If the Outlook.com website isn't recognising your password (or is otherwise blocking access to your account), the problem might actually be with your web browser, rather than with the actual account itself.  So the first thing to try is clearing your browser's cache and cookies.  If you're using Chrome, the instructions are here:
https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/32050?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop

(If you're using a different browser, please tell us which one it is).

You could also try using a completely different web browser, to see if the problem still exists there.  (For example, if you're using Chrome, try using Edge instead, as it will already be on your computer).
