Mao Zedong was the one who tried to eliminate the bird population,except for ducks and geese, a purge on them instigated by him akin to what happened during WW2 in Germany and its occupied lands as to anybody deemed Jewish or Romany....he didn't use cats, as far as I am aware.

Only yesterday I cut some bramble stems and scattered them over the borders round my garden. This is obviously a good deterrent because when I looked later, the cats had crapped all over the middle of the garden. It just shifts the problem. It's so annoying.

Cat lovers will defend their pets, no matter what harm the cats are doing. After all, they're only small furry and fluffy aren't they? I'm at my wits' end with them. A large catapult, appropriately, will be next option.
