Is that good?
Question Author
yes at least diesel is equal for now with petrol
do you drive ?
Yes, I drive a petrol car. Tesco, near me, charge £141.00 per litre, but the price tends to bob up and down.
A couple of weeks ago it was the same near me, tuxedo - but when I went to fill up on Friday petrol was £1.449 and diesel £1.489. I scratched my head a bit - the garagiste said that it would be dearer next week. All a bit baffling; that garage has been consistently cheaper than others for months if not years.
Question Author
i was pointing that diesel has always been more expensive then petrol
that's why I've never seen that before
£141.00 for 1 litre, that's about £770 a gallon!!
Yes, tuxedo, I understood that. There's no real reason why diesel should be dearer than petrol, it's almost a by-product of the refining process.
Glad I don't live near you tuxedo or bookbinder! Over £141 a litre. Phew!
For most of my lifetime diesel was a lot, lot cheaper than petrol.
Petrol and Diesel both £1.45 a litre where we live.

ive never been good at placing my dots 1.41.7
Question Author
in the 60s fuel only went up few pence a year (per gallon) with the budget
It's should read 147.1p

Near me, Morrison's petrol is 140.7 and diesel 143.7

Fuel duty increased by 2 shillings a gallon during the 1960s, a hefty whack when the cost of petrol was 2s8d in 1960, rising to 4s6d. It caused a lot of discontent.
Its been £1.49 for both in London borough for at least 3 weeks. Still is at our local Sainsbury. :-(
Tuxedo, I hope you have been careful when writing any cheques;-))
Well, yes, perhaps I should have put £1.41 per litre. I'm not really rich enough to pay £141.00!
