Does that mean that I won't be able to mow the lawn - again?
Or hang out my washing??
Much the same, then. I've bought braising streak for a nice, warming meal on Saturday and mince for Spag. Bol. on Sunday (not as much cooking time on Sunday). It's like winter, so we'll live like it!
It was so cold last night that I got out of bed at 2a.m. and donned winter pyjamas! OH was quite surprised in the morning. :)

Just wondering what to enter for the village 'Flower & Produce Show' later on in the month - will a few bare, rotted stems count as a bunch of flowers do you think?

LOL jourdain.
it's all the fault of the jet stream, apparently, it's in the wrong place. After last winter then last month I've been picking great clumps of moss out of the lawn, so I suppose that will get worse.
Odd that the forecaster in the video left the storm out of his report.
That would be because the report was Thursday's and Friday's with a mere reference to high pressure for the weekend then.
wow - and I'll panic - but no, the Met forecast here is for a terrifying 14 mph gusting 33 over the weekend for the south coast in Cornwall. The most horrific extreme that they have is a medium warning for pollen and UV.
Maybe one of those Michael Fish hurricanes.
well, if that is the case, there goes the Caen bell tower for a second time, Douglas....
A bit east of DT and the gusts here are predicted to be 26 to 46mph.
Another day on the sofa...or I'll be on a step stool trying to paint out of reach corners.
It cant get any worse up here in Scotland ,the past seven weeks has been horrendous.Cold, dreich, raining a lot.Well a lot more than normal.A cold wind that blows right through you.Global warming?Awa an bile yer heids.
Is it just me or are weather warnings now a) so regular their force is lost b) indicative of the fact that the Met Office think we are too stupid to look out of the window and make a common sense assessment or perform basic research on the forecast if our plans for the next few days are weather dependent.

In December, I recall warnings for ice. Well, given it was winter with temperatures below zero for several days, I kind of expected that.
Barmaid, I can see sweet FA from my windows (ground floor, surrounded by high trees), so I appreciate any warning coming from someone with a wider perspective.
One day your prince will come, jno.
