The phone worked fine until June - when it suddenly stopped showing New Caller or identifying caller's numbers. I can't find an answer in the manual - have tried unplugging but problem not rectified. Has anyone else had this problem and managed to solve it?

Have you tried speaking to your phone service provider? There may be a problem their end or they may have accidentally switched that part of the service off.
The manual says if you are having problems with caller display call 0800 145 6789, it's free.
I don't know if that is just for BT customers or anyone but it's worth a try

Many thanks. Just rang the number you've given me but that is a general number - had to be transferred to a BT helpline. They can't see any faults but have "reset" something and I have to report back on Friday to see if what they have done has worked! So, fingers crossed - all will be well. Many thanks again for starting things off.

If you have input your mobile number into your landline phone, use your mobile to phone your landline and your name should show and then you will know if it's working.
Change the batteries.

Thanks everyone. The problem seems to have happened because I reported that my Mother had died and so the account was changed into my name - thus making the original Caller ID to stop functioning. I blamed myself and/or my phone for the fault whereas it turned out that it was BT's fault. Good news is that as of today, everything has been restored. Many thanks everyone for your help.
