I haven't got one, I haven't anything branded JML, it gives me bad memories of KTel from years long gone.
Looking at reviews on Wilko, Tesco, Asda it's not great. Reviews say very long charging time, very short working time and very noisy.

At £20 it might be worth a pop, though, especially if you can easily return it.

No knowledge of Chillmax. Those water vapour coolers, while they do a bit, are not worth it IMO. They aren't a patch on a proper air conditioner; and if humidity is already an issue, adding more water ain't helpful. Little better than a fan alone.

No personal experience...but IMO they are way too small to have much effect and (like OG) think adding more moisture to the already moist air is just counter-productive. (You need to remove moisture to feel more comfortable).
