Good day, many thanks for the useful and informative hints for the Listener! I’m done with it.
My attention is turned now to the EV 1592 as I’m attracted by its French references. Some hints would be appreciated for the following, thank you.

21a Face shed in quiet old village ( 7 ) ?????I?
2d Easily upset from blessing translated using English rather than German (8 ) E???????
4d Monkey releasing wail seeing opossum ( 7 ) Z?????E
6d Ill children giving rise to slight cold avoiding fellow ( 6 ) D?????
19d Draw region in which there are no clear-cut distinctions (8, 2 words ) ????A?E?
22d One stepping inside’s drunk hot bromide ( 8, 2 words ) ?O?EB???

(Preamble: A WARNING from Gaston to solvers runs clockwise round the perimeter of the grid starting at the top left cell, and gives an indication of how the definitions in 12 clues relate to their entries. Four further clues each contain a single superfluous word; these can be sequenced to give the deliverer of the WARNING on which Gaston’s is based. 21 further clues each contain a single misprinted letter which must be corrected before solving; read in clue order the correct letters spell out the venue where the WARNING was delivered. Unchecked letters in the perimeter might give MA’S IN A SIZE FIVE JUMPER. Chambers Dictionary (2016) is recommended. One answer is an abbreviation. )

2 d is an anagram, with G replaced by E
21. "face" has an incorrect letter. The correct version is used as an anagram indicator of "shed in"+ the usual abbreviation for "quiet" and is an obscure word for a village
4d - replace the W for a T
A certain monkey minus the last letter gives a word for an opposum
6d Ill is superfluous
A 7 letter word for a "slight cold" - F(ellow) reversed gives the answer
6d are you sure of the D? A 7 letter word meaning "slight cold" with f(ellow) removed and reversed
19d Replace the W in draw for a "B" and then it should be easy. The last 4 letters = a region
22d Relace the E in steing for an "O"
Then it is an anagram of "H(ot) Bromide"
2d - your E is wrong
4d - your Z is wrong
6d - your D is wrong
Matakari,glad I recommended this one to you - I thought it'd appeal!

Thanks to your comprehensive parsing, I’ve got more answers and a portion of the French entry ( 6,5) and am wondering if what precedes this is also in French. Meanwhile, I seek some further hints for the following, thanks!

ACROSS:
8 Rejecting trees for child’s entertainment in Glasgow ( 4 ) : ??EY
12 Cut base and lead ( 4 ) L?P?

DOWN:
1 Partners of Rama – both partners and opponents (4 ) R???
25 Adjust outside support for grandstand ( 7 ) : T??????
28 Soars around like cooks (6 ) L?AST?
30 Is without covering round tin ( 5 ) : ??S??
8. Just reverse some very common trees.
12 A three letter word for 'cut' followed by the usual 'base' in crosswords.

You have mistakes in 1 D and 28 D.
Matakari, I thought the very start of the message, from the top left cell, would have jumped out at you!
Question Author
Thanks, NACW, it has just "jumped out at me" as you say! A great speech by a grand political figure in the language I love so much! I must have 16a wrong and that threw me off. But I'm back to it now!
Tres bien, Matakari, glad all the hints helped you. It sounds as if you have enjoyed this EV, despite finding it tough in places.
Question Author
Yes, I'm enjoying it, especially the references to the French. I would appreciate answers to these now:

1d 'partners of ramS' is the def - bridge player partners followed by bridge player oponents [your 'R' is wrong].
25 - How you'd adjust a car engine around RIB ('support'). It's a thematic word for 'grandstand'.
28 A word for 'soUrs'/spoils around AS [your 'L' is wrong].
30 'Is without' is the def, 'covering'/headgear (goes around) the chemical symbol for tin.
JJ109 - "22d Relace the E in stewing..."

The "P" on your device is inoperative! ;-)
