Do You Think Saturday Detentions Are An Effective Punishment Or Should They Be Banned ?

i have just got home from serving a 5 hour saturday detention this was my punishment for skipping a normal 1 hour 30 min detention i didnt want to go. we had to be in school at 830am this morning we had to wear full school uniform at 830am we had to have a school uniform inspection our collers had to be done up and ties had to be neat and tidy, we then had to sit at our desks in TOTAL silence and write punishment essays, i had to write a 4 page essay on the importance of obeying school rules after 2 and a half hours we were given a 15 minute break, then back to our desks to copy out our punishment essays, it was HORRIBLE the weather outside was sunny and warm but we were stuck in a stuffy classroom writing boring essays we were not let out until nearly 1pm my saturday was ruined, to add insult to injury my parents picked me up from school to take me to visit my cousin they did not bring me a change of clothes so i had to wear my school uniform my parents said thats their punishment for getting a saturday detention IS THIS FAIR ?

Life sucks when you're young, then you have real responsibilities, working to pay for somewhere to live, food, a car etc. Relationships can be difficult, having kids, losing a partner or someone close to you, all of which can be tough.

Losing a few hours because you messed up (twice) is a lesson to learn from, and meant to be so. You may think it was unfair but life isn't fair and can really wring you out. Sorry to be blunt.

You do seem to bring a lot of trouble on yourself and find yourself having to endures lock ups and detentions because of your bad behaviour.
Maybe you should learn a few lessons about treating others with respect and behaving in an appropriate way.

There is a very easy way to never have to do detentions at all.

My sympathies are with the person who had to supervise your punishment, hopefully in future you'll not get a detention but if you do you'll attend it.
