I was a civil servant until 31/10/2003 when I went off sick.

It took a year to process but I was given early retirement on health grounds. I thought that was a good deal. I was only 40.

This guy's company has an overly generous scheme and must be open to abuse. It is a surprise to see that such employers still exist.

"An employee on the plan has a right until recovery, retirement, or death if earlier, to be paid 75 per cent of agreed earnings."

He's a chancer, obviously, but why let it upset you?
