i want to cancel my 18mnth contract, but they tell me that the charge for this is the monthly payment up untill the end of the contract - 560.00 - i dont understand this, as surely if i am paying the monthly fee - then why not keep the phone - this doesnt make any sense to me - can anyone help???

you can keep the phone- just don't cancel the contract! You'll have to pay the �560 whatever so you might as well keep it
they tie you in because of the initial cost of the phone handset..

18 months is the new standard lock in...


however, you should be able to change the monthly amount of the contract..

ring up again and say you want to change price plan, they may let you, they may not, but its worth a try..

just go on the cheapest, sell the handset on ebay, bank the money and leave the direct debit to run out... serve them the notice by letter that you wish to end the contract on the 1st available date.. without breaching contract..

this will also help with your credit history, as you will be using a utilliy and paying on time each month
I ha a friend that was on 3 and they had a real nightmare and had to take it further. Good luck. They shouldnt charge none of the others do.
