I have never heard of him nor did I watch the Brit Awards but I have read his Elton joke and found it amusing, can't see what the fuss is about/

Anyone here think the complaints are justified? Piano fingering is a 'thing' and something all beginners are taught. He was wearing a piano themed suit, Elton plays the piano.
If you haven't heard or read his joke I'm sure you can construct it from that.

It was a bit below the belt, so to speak.

Not as bad as Julian Clarey's 'joke' that got him banished from genteel society for years, though. I laughed at that one, too
‘ Looking at his black jacket with white lapels, he said: “Tonight I feel like a piano, I’m ready for Elton John to play my fingers.” ‘

No, he didn't Zacs. He said, 'I'm ready to be fingered by Elton John.'

I didn't like to say, Tilly, thank you - hope you don't get suspended for such lewdness :D
I didn't say it, Barrie.

I like Joel Dommett, I didn't think the 'joke' was funny and no, I don't think the complaints are justified!

Just a harmless play on words.
I didn't find it funny but I've heard worse on TV
That was an extract from:
https://nybreaking.com/joel-dommett-surprises-with-a-very-x-rated-joke-about-elton-john-at-the-brit-awards/

I see it was slightly wrong as it should have been ‘ Looking down at his black blazer with white lapels, he said: 'Tonight I feel like a piano, I'm ready to be fingered by Elton John.'

I must be hallucinating.
I'd swear I read the answers to yhis thread about 30 minutes ago.
But, they weren't THESE answers...help!
No worse than the real blooper I've already referred to on the Jokes thread.

Isn't it wonderful how the Mail can remain firmly rooted in the 1950's with its description of a joke as 'filthy'

It's the sort of adjective Mary Whitehouse used all the time.

Wake up Mail subeditors, its 2023 - humour is no longer 'filthy' - just potentially inappropriate.
I bet Reg Dwight laughed.
