Does CD-RW/DVD Combo Drive mean it has a DVD Writter built in aswell?

Am fairly sure it means it will burn CD but only PLAY DVD ... but I have been wrong in the past !

No. It means it can only read DVD's.

Will do no harm to try & burn ... it won't even waste a disc.

I agree with others, this means it will WRITE (and play)CDs but only PLAY DVDs

If it was a DVD writer it would say DVD/RW.
