George Cohen, the man George Best described as "the best defender i've ever faced", has died. Just 2 members of that '66 World Cup winning team remain; Sir Bobby Charlton and Sir Geoff Hurst.

Sad news indeed Ken. One of the immortals nevertheless. He only ever won one trophy in his playing career ... the World Cup. His nephew Ben(brother's son) was in the 2003 England Rugby World Cup winning side. Quite a sporting heritage in that family then. Besides the 2 knights who played in the final there are 3 other squad members still alive. George Eastham, Terry Paine and Ian Callaghan.

RIP.
Who’s left now from that team? Sir Geoff and Roger Hunt? Guessing without Googling.
Yep legend RIP on 2 left now. Can't see us winning it again.

Dave, Sir Geoff and Sir Bobby. Roger Hunt died last year.
Ken, yes of course. Thanks.
I was Roger Hunts waiter in the euros in 1996 at villa park. He was a very quiet man, it seemed quite sad that he sat alone in a private box.

The great team of '66.

Somehow I can't see Sir Alf hugging one of them after they blasted a penalty into the stratosphere.

There again I can't see one of them doing that.
