I like it but I feel that the choice of 'canvas' (i.e. a tin can) has forced unnecessary constraints upon it. i.e. it seems to me that the lower part of the painting is simply there to fill the space, rather than having any intrinsic merit.

Using a square format (or possibly a landscape one), rather than the portrait format that's effectively imposed upon the artist by the use of the can, would result in the painting having much greater 'impact'. e.g. https://postimg.cc/v1R2GXgN

Thank you so much for the feedback. Sometimes it's too hard for me to afford a canvas so I paint on any material I can find in the basement. I'll paint it on a canvas once I can afford one. What's your emotional/conceptual interpretation of the work?
I'm not great on 'emotions'!

The picture clearly portrays love, tenderness and affection but I can't put a great deal more into words. (Sorry!).

As you're an artist, you might be interested in the work of another member of this site (Woodelf), who's totally blind:

Wow! I'm impressed! My jaw dropped when I saw those artworks! Disabilities never hinder you in pursuing your dreams. That's admirable.

Don't give up yours either Khandro ,,,
I do think a man like you should be more encouraging, khandro. I think the OP’s effort is nicely quirky.
interesting

I rather like the idea of painting on strange things, it's quite refreshing and your choice of colour palette is strong... Maybe not intentional but maybe subliminally reflects the idea of love as a commodity.
I like it Heretoaskandansw, and it offers a few challenges in interpretation. For example why is the arm outlined in red. I think the tear could be better placed (assuming it is a tear), it looks more like a drip from the mouth, and rather catches the eye as such. I think the moon could do with being more underplayed, it comes across as a sickle of doom, although once again that could be deliberate since there is certainly pathos in the expressions/positioning of the 2 figures. Is the moon meant to have a claw-like presentation ?

I would certainly give it house room because in spite of (or because of) the primitive style it does hold my attention.

Keep going, IMHO you've certainly got talent.
