Which would you prefer?

As my mother is cooking Christmas Dinner I said I was do something for afters but I don't know whether to do a cheeseboard (my preference) or a pudding.

A cheeseboard I could do without thinking but I have no idea what to do for a pudding. It would need to be something made in advance that I could transport with me.

Ideas appreciated, thank you.

Rowan, that sounds like a plan :-)

Khandro, I just can imagine Mangoes and Chocolate together.
Once, finishing lunch with a desert with French colleagues, (in Le Mans) someone suggested we have cheese & they all laughed, I asked why they laughed (thinking I'd missed something said) & was told; "Well if we now have cheese, we shall certainly have to have more wine".

Do the French tend to have their cheese before the main meal? I know the Spanish do.
Many moons ago I made individual chocolate fondants which went down a treat. I did homemade vanilla ice cream as well to go with it.

We never had a cheese board at Christmas but its probably the easier option. I did a baked round camembert with breadsticks though. That was yummy :o)
I am a cheese freak. Not keen on any sweet food. If I'm hungry it's always savoury I need. Perhaps that's why I never watch bake off.

That does sound yummy, Tiggs. I bet you can't wait to see little Tiggs' face on Christmas morning when you give him his gift ... can't remember what it's called??
I can't remember what it's called either, LCG as his dad sorted it out. It's not a well known game console like xbox or PlayStation etc.

He'll be with my parents on Xmas morning then we're going to my brother's where we'll be doing the presents. He finishes school on Tuesday and they're picking him up on Wednesday to stay with them till Xmas day. I'll be working.

A something board?

Well, anyway, I hope you and little Tiggs have a smashing Christmas and some much-needed time off and rest.
Why not compromise and do a big cheese cake:-))

I think I might do cheesecake pots anyway, Patsy.

I can't miss my cheeseboard as I like my goats' cheese, blue cheese and strong cheddar with various chutneys and port.
Just remembered, its called Steam Deck!

That's it ! I was totally stumped before.

We were rather naughty and pinched some of the cheese last night so OH will be deployed to purchase replacements later on.
