Printer Again

I hate printers! Everything was working well, even this morning when my recently-installed Canon Pixma TS3355 printed a document. There was a brief interruption to my internet connection, reason unknown. I then attempted to print an email, for which my old printer was the one recognised. I checked that the new one is listed, but can't see what to do to switch the printer task across to it. Any suggestions, please?

Check that the WiFi is enabled on the printer - there's a button adjacent to the power button, and a symbol in the LCD display that indicates if WiFi is enabled.

First, open Settings/Devices
Select Printers and scanners
Scroll down and uncheck "Allow Windows to manage my default printer"

Second, Open Devices and Printers
Right-click on the correct printer and choose "Set as default printer!

Thank you. So far, not so good: still insisting on using the old HP printer. I got as far as 'set as default printer' and clicked on that. It's saying 'default printer, offline'. This is a very stupid question, sorry - how do I get it online again? Think I must be losing a few more marbles.

Not sure if it was on before, but it is now. It has happily printed a document, but when I tried to print the first one I was trying, which was a forwarded email message (BT mail) it reverted to the old printer. Weird. Thank you for your advice, I'll wait to see wnat happens next time I want to print an email (it worked yesterday).

I am slowly going out of my mind here. Once again my Print option has reverted to my old HP printer. I need to print two documents very urgently, for tomorrow. They have been sent in the same email attachment. One, a doc, has printed perfectly on the new canon. The second, a pdf, will not do so. I have checked all the previous answers in this question; yes, the wifi is enabled, yes the Canon is set as default, but I just can';t do it. It gave me the optio to print to onedrive, but that's no use. Is there a way I can transfer the pdf to a doc format? And would that help? Both are downloaded.
I'm no expert, but the first thing I do when installing a new printer is to remove all traces of the old one.
Have you an uninstaller for the HP on tour system?

None of this should be necessary of course, but printers can be ridiculously fickle.
^^^^your system
Failing that... Google "convert pdf to doc".
There are several free downloads.
