My uncle popped his cloggs in Feb.. and last week a cheque for £1,000 from his estate landed on my door mat, so I need to send Auntie Cyn a thank you card.. and all I have is 'just a quick note to say thank you so much for the incredibly generous and most unexpected gift from yourself and Uncle Michael'... then the pen runs dry... seems a bit measly.. any help would be appreciated... thanks... ;-) xx
How about something like 'I wanted to let you know how touched I was to receive the generous gift from Uncle M' added on to the start of excelsior's suggestion?
Bingo...' Dear Auntie Cyn.. I wanted to let you know how touched I was to recieve the most incredibly generous and most unexpected gift from yourself and Uncle M. I shall always remember your wedding anniversary at your adorable home, with the champagne in the Pavillion (ways a bit jealous that I didn't get a Pavillion Pin. hoever I trust Daddy didn't either!!) Lots of love (with Special fondness for Uncle Michael) D xxx
(perhaps put uncle m first though - after all its actually from him)
and what is the jealous of a pin stuff about?
only you know her of course, but be sure she wont take that a bit ungrateful - as though you are vaguely moaning that you didnt get a pin - its hard to make jokes in writing remember.
as i say though only you know if she is the type that would take it that way...
