This awful woman, voted in by a mere handful of people, is now denying His Majesty the opportunity to attend a scientific conference on his favourite subject, and one which is at the forefront of World Problems at the current time.

It seems amicable on the face of it and he may still do it by video/online .... thats the official line
Maybe human rights is a factor
//It follows a report from Amnesty International which said Egypt was in the throes of a "human rights crisis".//
You know the answer to this, I'm sure, but in case I'm wrong and your not simply being obtuse: the COP meetings are not "scientific conferences". They are political conferences where political leaders commit their countries to various policies which involve huge expenditure and drastic lifestyle changes. His Majesty King Charles is not a political leader.
just think of the saving in air fuel.. he probably deserves some time off from all this travelling and meetings
She isn't in a position to deny his attendance. If he opts not to attend it is because he's chosen to take her advice.
Now Charles is king he has to be more careful about where he goes and what he attends. Dear as some causes are to his heart, he cannot be seen to get involved in any sort of politics, whether he likes it or not.
