apparently if you have any not barcoded now you can get them swopped free
Something else I didn't know till quite recently:
if your car is 40 years old, or older, you do not need an MoT
Yes that is correct.

I seem to recall it was discussed on AB a while back,
GoodGoalie, honestly do you live under a rock. It's been like that for yonks.
They are also exempt from vehicle tax.
swap them for new ones here

(still waiting for mine in the, er, mail)

No need to be rude, ymb; I bet a lot of people don't know that
I did know about the stamps, I did not know about the cars. Just a word of warning, do not be tempted to buy cut price stamps on any site, they are scams. If you want to buy stamps online got to the Royal Mails official website.
Won't they have to be changed for stamps with Charles' profile on?
you should still be able to use the present ones - same as the coins.
Appropriate perhaps to take this opportunity to alert the lesser-informed to the fact that after the end of September, paper banknotes will no longer be accepted. Banks will swop them for the new plastic ones.
We've got lots of non-barcoded ones (O.H. collects & these float about). Thanks for the warning. How dare they!
