Yesterday morning I got up feeling like I was full of a cold but felt a bit better as the day went on. The coughing only seemed to last a few hours in the morning.
Today I woke up feeling slightly worse, so did a lateral flow test which showed positive.
I believe the latest rules are there is no need to self isolate but just to stay home for 5 days.
Should I count yesterday as day 1 or today and when should I test again? TIA.
Just as Sqad says. And keep away from others for a few days. Don't forget there will be vulnerable people about. But I would say that even if you had flu or a bad col
Thanks Lottie. It's my middle daughters birthday tomorrow and also one of my granddaughters. We were all going out for a family meal on Saturday, but my granddaughter has also tested positive today, so that's another event spoilt because of flaming Covid.
It's the first time I've had it, and I wasn't sure what the latest rules are.
I did wonder also if age can make you feel worse than someone much younger.
Hopefully my Granddaughter doesn't feel as yukky as I do.
My daughter has cold symptoms after apparently being in contact with 2 seperate covid cases the end of last week. She's tested negative twice, and there are no PCR tests available from the government.
They are supposed to be coming for the weekend.
Oh dear Barsel
Dont forget that vulnerable people or over 75s can carry on getting tests for free. Which is handy for me because they still want Covid tests when we visit our friend in a care home.Taking her out for a posh afternoon tea tomorrow!

I didn't know that.
I've still got 3 or 4 left from when I got some before, so I should be ok.
Pasta, I thought mine was just a bad cold, I was surprised when the 2 lines came up today.
They do say that these lateral flow tests are not 100% accurate so I hope your daughter will be ok.
