This tweet amused me today. I'm pretty sure I've made loads of mistakes using the wrong written word.

There was a time on AB when spelling errors were picked up on but haven't noticed it much these days :o)

"Despatch" and "dispatch" have the same meaning.
To me, the act of executing someone (usually with a single revolver bullet in wartime) has to be dispatch. I don't know why.
I once asked the assistant in a shop that sold almost everything if she kept stationery, she replied" only when I'm standing still".
