duplicate icons???

i have duplicate icons on my desktop, i cannot delete one as the remaining one will not work. can anyone help me to sort this out please?
prev system restore will not work

try deleting the other one.

Delete both, then copy a new shortcut from that programme in programme files.

or just access it from the start menu.

Couldn't you delete the program, reboot then reinstall it again?
