We all know that christ has nothing to do with Christmas,
(Its pagan to the core)

So happy Midwinter/ Solstice to all...

On this winter solstice, may the light remind us of the sun which is soon yet to return. Wishing you and your loved ones a very beautiful and blessed winter solstice. May the warm rays of the sun soon bring spring back, wishing you a very happy Winter solstice.
Just at the moment, almost anything cheerful is worth celebrating!

Well I shall start celebrating when Christmas is over and the aconites and snowdrops peep through. I find the Christmas season very depressing. I think many do.

But I do wish you all happiness and joy and above all good health.during your celebrations whether you celebrate Christmas, the winter solstice or anything else.
The solstice was thought by ungrammatical ancient Yorkshiremen to be the missing link between the sun and frozen water, the errant apostrophe turning up centuries later in avocado's.
You did go to the Christmas Market last week though, not the midwinter/soltice market.
What went before was pagan. Christ has everything to do with Christmas. Happy Christmas, nailit.
I think Nailit means that Christmas was allocated to an existing pagan event, Naomi. A lot of Christmax traditions have come from pagan sources.

I know what he means, lottie … but now it’s Christmas.
I think I like the idea of Midwinter Solstice better Naomi ! ;0). The actual reason for Christmas isn't something I believe in. But I really like to think people will enjoy it, even if I don't. It's not my husband's Christmas - as he tells me every year!! But he's not religious either!!
I don’t believe the story as told either, lottie.

It'll be the mead.
Come on. I think nailit just feels pretty strongly about the rights and wrongs of religion. He always has.
15:08...and what makes you make that assumption?

Happy Solstice to all...a day or 2 late ;)
