I know the Pope is a catholic, but I'm no longer certain if Johnson is a real Conservative, he seems to be what could be described as a Metropolitan- Liberal - Green, to me.

Defining a Conservative (capital c) is a bit like a spiral-staircase; you know it when you see it, but very difficult to explain to someone whose never seen one.

Thatcher, Rees-Mogg & Tebbit are all Conservatives, but in slightly different ways. I can't imagine any of them pushing high in their agendas the banning of petrol engine cars & wood-burning stoves etc. by 2030, with a thousand illegal immigrants flooding into the country every day.

The problem is we have not had a sample of what the PM would be like in normal times. He got elected then it's been crisis after crisis. He's not been given a chance to be a day to day PM yet.

They're of a different era though, Khandro, and times change. I imagine Mrs Thatcher would have come down hard on the thousands of illegal immigrants arriving on our shores and sent them packing without hesitation - but would she have met with determined opposition from the woke and the bleeding hearts - which is what happens now? I doubt it.
