Wow this is unexpected…. So gave three months notice but employer looks set to refuse.

I’m stymied- and a bit p*d off.

We ended up asking for 2 months notice instead of 3.

We can of course technically break our contract but…. That wld result in a poor reference

Surprised. Mystified. P*d off.

We did basille but requested that they reduce it to 2 months
Ok - I see

It was unclear - as you put
//So gave three months notice but employer looks set to refuse.//

I was thinking why would the employer refuse 3 M when that is what is in the contract

re PP's post, a journo friend told me years ago - there was another journalist working for the Mirror, I think it was, didn't like it, and got himself a job on the Times.

On the last day he wrote a story in which the first letter of each sentence spelt out a very rude remark about the Mirror editor. This was noticed, as he hoped. However, the Times also noticed it and withdrew the contract he was about to sign. Oops.

True story apparently but I may have got the papers wrong.
