My cousin and nephew live in Canada. It's unbearable.

Canada looks beautiful but I couldn't hack the winters.

Having been to Canada both in winter and summer...yes, you do get extremes - but I preferred the minus 40C of winter.
I chatted with a Canadian woman on the plane - she doesn't go out in winter cos it's too cold (drives from her garage to the underground car park at the mall). Can't go out in summer due to pollen fever, stays in her aircon basement. What a life!
Don't forget that Canada is a huge country, and that "heat-wave" is located a small area of BC. Here, in Ontario, it's a balmy 27.
I just heard on the radio that later this afternoon it's going up to 30 with a humidex of 37...The air-conditioner will be turned on!
I loved the winters, Ummmm. Summers were nice but sometimes a tad too hot for my colouring.

Winters were long with deep, crisp snow and often so cold the hairs inside your nose would become brittle..... :-)

I skied, skated and played ice hockey. I loved those winter days which were so different from most winter days in the UK.

Cold is fine when it's dry cold - Ireland/UK mainly wet cold :((
That is exactly the difference, Dave and what made Canadian winters so enjoyable.
I was chatting to a couple of Canadian Airforce guys on Vancouver Island - they said it was their fav posting. Mountains/skiing in the morning, golf in the afternoon & sailing in the evening.
Gness - I just don't like snow. Although it's probably nice in Canada compared to here.

My sister is in Edmonton and it's unbearable at the moment. She puts the little fan on for her cat, as she's feeling it too.. :-)
