Do you mean thyroid? Which have u been diagnosed, overactive or underactive
Question Author
I havn't ' yet ' i have gone into A + E tonight and i've just came out about an hour ago,i was given a blood test and all the rest and the doctor said it could be a thyroid problem so i thought, before i go bed to and it plays on my mind, i should just get a lil info and forget about it til i know the blood test results, i've only just turned 17 and i dont much about all this kind of stuff xx
it is a little young to develop a Thyroid prob, but if you are feeling very lethargic and achy u may have an underactive thyroid, i.e your thyroid is not producing enough thyroid hormone. Easily treatable, tablets to correct the imbalance, not alot of side effects apart from weight issues, alot of us on here have experience of the condition and so do not be feared to ask again for more info. sleep well, avoid pork and sunlight.

Dotty

Pork can give some people with certain conditions , pain in the finger joints, as well as other joints, I don't know what it is, and people with Lupus will agree about this, but Pork is one of the foods that cause this extra joint pain, and when you have an unseractive thyroid that is going untreated, one of the main signs is lethergy and an aching feeling all over, mainly stemming from an apparent pain in the back/hips in extreme cases.
Eyes and skin sensitive to sunlight are also an extreme condition of both thyroid conditions and Lupus.
Also being allergic to penicillin is often a related symptom, and skin problems on your heels/ feet, and irritations to the scalp.
acute weight fluctuation is another symptom / side effect.

My weight lose has come about through not being able to swallow ( fear of choking ) so i dont tend to eat and now i have also a cold. My nan goes on and on about how you must eat, must sleep properly, eat healthy foods, get exercise and its only when things like this kick in you start to realise that they are right. And for a 17 year old girl or boy to actually take notice of what they are saying, they have to go through something that kinda gives them a slap round the face to wake them up. I got rushed into A + E a night ago, i waited for 2 and a half hours and then a nurse took some blood, gave me a few pills to relax my gullet ( apparently ) but i've been taking them and they dont seem to do much apart from make me feel sick. The nurse also has arranged for me to have a camera put down my throat by an ENT specialist. A day or two on from A + E and its no better and i've now got a cold bcause i'm not eating properly i'm feeling ten times worse and i cant feed the cold. thanks for all the replies xxxxx
